Backpack Initiative

The Backpack Initiative is a PTA program that provides weekend food supplies to Pittsburgh Dilworth students experiencing food insecurity.  Each participating student receives a bag of child-friendly single-serving snacks and easily prepared meals to bring home every Friday. Food is donated, packed, and distributed by Dilworth volunteers, and we strive to include protein, whole grains, fruits, and dairy products in each bag. Parents and guardians can enroll students anytime during the school year by using our online form.

We would greatly appreciate food donations from our Amazon Wishlist.  Any purchases you make from the wishlist will automatically be sent to us and will be used to fill the bags that are sent home each weekend with Dilworth students.  As always, thank you for your much appreciated support!

Uniform Exchange

Our PTA provides a volunteer-run Uniform Exchange where you can donate old school uniforms your child has outgrown and request additional sizes!

TO DONATE: Send clean uniform items in a bag labeled "For Uniform Exchange" to the main office. Items will be sorted and put away by volunteers. **We are only able to accept clothing that conforms with the Dilworth Uniform Policy.

TO REQUEST: Please fill out the form below. Clothing is distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We tend to have an abundance of smaller sizes and fewer options for larger sizes. Requests will be delivered to your child's homeroom within about one week. You will be notified if your request cannot be fulfilled at this time. Any items that are sent home and do not fit can be returned to the Uniform Exchange, and additional items can be requested.
