1. Uniform Exchange (manage uniform donations to support students' and families' uniform needs)

2. Backpack Program (coordinate providing weekend meals to students in food insecure homes)

3. Read-A-Thon (organize a fun activity that supports student reading and is also a PTA fundraiser)

4. Silent Auction (secure donations and create a website to run a silent auction benefiting the school)

5. Fundraising (come up with creative ideas for PTA fundraising and help get them going)

6. Teacher Appreciation (organize gifts and a meal to show teachers our appreciation - usually falls in May)

7. Apparel Sale (work with a vendor to supply Dilworth swag to raise school spirit and raise funds)

8. Bake Sales (coordinate bake sales to raise funds for the school - e.g. during election days)

9. Holiday Shop (organize a shop where students can buy gifts for loved ones for the holidays - usually in Nov.)

10. Wellness Activities (set up fun activities that promote the wellness of our community e.g. Bike/Walk to School)

11. School-Wide Events Support (volunteer support school-wide events - e.g. Field Day, Garden Night, etc.)

These are just some of the ways you can volunteer as part of the PTA. We also welcome new ideas for enriching the learning experience and joy for our children. Please share your talents and creativity to support our school!

In order to volunteer, you must complete all of the following:

• Complete the PPS In-Take Form for volunteers

• Submit a PA State Criminal History Report (obtained online at no cost)

• Submit a PA Child Abuse History Clearance (obtained online at no cost)

• If you are volunteering in a Pre-K classroom, you will also need to submit TB test results

You must also complete one of the following two options:

• If you have lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 years:

  • Submit a signed PA Resident Verification for Waiver of FBI Report Form 

• If you have lived in Pennsylvania fewer than 10 consecutive years:

  • Submit a FBI Federal Criminal History Record Check 

    • Fingerprinting is required

    • The Service Code for this report is 1KG6ZJ 

    • This Record Check costs $21.35

Completed clearances must be approved by the school and the district and should be submitted to Ms. Long in the office (klong1@pghschools.org).
